A festival where Old Masters act as muses for contemporary designers. Who conceives of such a notion? Nicole Uniquole and Willem Jan Hoogsteder have once again joined their unique forces. With Masterly The Hague they have firmly established a new destination in royal The Hague for art and design lovers.

The allure of the second edition of Masterly The Hague, held from the 19th to the 22nd of September 2019, is unparalleled in The Netherlands. At four distinguished locations around the Hofvijver 25 staged style rooms are set up. Here the selected participants present their new designs in close proximity to the 17th century artworks; their main source of inspiration, their muse.

Just A Perfect Collaboration

JAPTH is a proud participant in this royal event. Several products of JAPTH, including the chandelier 'Wheel' - a design by Dutch designer Richard Hutten - will beautifully illuminate the 17th-century style rooms: a perfect combination of modern Dutch Design with historical art.

Following the succes of the first edition in 2018 more locations are subjected to a royal transformation. The former restaurant Royal at the Lange Voorhout is given a makeover. Masterly The Hague also hosts a beautiful series of culture-historical lectures. De Bijenkorf once again creates window displays in Masterly style and allure. A free guide shows all designers, as well as twelve prime locations with that typical Hague atmosphere in the Museum Quarter, so befitting of this festival. On Saturday the 21st of September at 100:00 am, the Hester van Eeghen Leather Design Award ceremony takes place.
